Scrapbook Magazine.......

I was bad and ordered a magazine through Publisher's Clearing House a few weeks back and just got my first copy.....I thought it would be a bit more free art....yet, most of scrapbooking seems to aim at getting a very polished look to your end results....I think I will be using it more for cutting and making collages, for I can't really see myself having to buy so much.....it looks a bit on the expensive side to be a scrapbooker.....I may be wrong.....let me know...

Trying out an idea.....

I love making art from recycled materials. At my mom's she has a basketful of unwanted mail just waiting to be turned into a treasure. I created this abstract piece from magazine pages and a piece of firm cardboard.
Begin by rolling paper in all kinds of ways....thin, wide, small, chunky, tight curls, loose curls...
Once you have about 40 rolls, I spread glue on on the board.....ran out of modge podge...
Begin placing circles in the composition of your choice.

Done...but still needs to dry.
Dried out and much stronger this morning.
Will look great on a wall.

Two New Art Creations

These are my latest abstract collage pieces using recycled magazine paper. They are both on 16"x20"x.75" gallery wrapped canvas and can be found at my Online Etsy Store, Miriam's Art, at www.MiriamsArt.Etsy.com for only $37 (not including shipping). Nothing beats ORIGINAL art.

CALLING FOR FREE MAGAZINES

I am now moving onto collage mosaics in my work and asking anyone who has a pile of magazines and you live in W. Long Island, I could come get them off your hands. Just send me an e-mail. Thanks in advance for your help!

MOST RECENT WORK

In the midst of Luke throwing his typical 4-year-old fits and incessantly picking on Nora and Nora running up to me and pulling my shirt requesting to nurse, I was surprisingly able to finish a collage last night.  You can find it for sale in my Esty Store for $37.  My daughter sat beside me on the rug as we watched Babe, Pig in the City for the hundreth time and simultaneously tried to make her own punches. She was so exited every time she successfully punched out a shape.
I create these using recycled magazines and circulars, we had been waiting all morning for the mail to come to bring us more magazines to devour into our project.  When he came and left nothing I was reminded that I had cancelled all my unsolicited catalogs ages ago. My husband took pity on us and gave us his college magazine which he has finished reading and in the dusty shelf we found a teaching magazine copy of Teaching Tolerance. Very colorful results.  I love all the accidental words that come into the work....

Have to know how to fight

Do you know how to fight? If you care about your relationships dare to practice fighting.  It does not really matter what you fight over.......
