Maze Craze

So Luke is obsessed about mazes lately......I made him a Star Wars Maze book.....

And here is luke, working through another maze book I made him. This was was all about sweets.....candy, lolipops, cookies...etc.

Imagine a beautifully bound book (not album) with bright personally meaningful images and words in each page about a special day or event in your family. All you need to do is send me all your pictures in the correct sequence with a few words about the plot/story. I will design you a book and have it professionally printed for you. Once I create a basic design, and pay for your first copy you will be able to easily print any number of copies on your own from the printer service.

The possibilities are endless:
* Pictures of you and your child making your favorite recipe. One step at a time. If you have not yet taken the pictures, please call me for tips on getting better images. Make a family heirloom. Pass it down to your children

* Pictures of "a day in the life of" anyonein your family. Follow someone around all day and tell their story.

* Neighborhood book. All the fun places where you live

* Family albums- pictures of all family and extended family...

* Social story to help you gently change your child's behavior through a fun narrative

Cost of this service is $85 It included the design of your book and the shipping and printing fee for one copy. You must send me all your pictures in JPG format to my e-mail or by CD to my address (call me to get this info). If you only have non-digital images you must turn them into JPG format before I can work with them. Your local photo store would be able to help you do this for very little cost.

you pay deposit to get me started and other half before I send it to you. The other half ($42.50) is due when book is done and before shipping.

You will fill out a general questionnaire before I begin designing the book to help me design a book that best fits your needs. Any changes that need to be done to the final design will be limited to 3 requests. Thereafter changes will cost 5$ per design change.

Recent Journal Pages....Beginning of the summer

I have been keeping a journal since I was about 7. But just recently I discovered the fun of visual or art journaling. I made my own book journal last month. To see pictures of this process click HERE.

I love experimenting with various FONTS and textures.

I tested out a new stencil I created last week.....one of a Greek Column.

Here is a quick sketch of how I wanted my 'Russell Pearce's War on Children' political digital Collage to look like. To see the finished product can be seen HERE.
I adore trees.......branches, leaves, flowers...anything with natural forms.

Nora celebrated her 3rd birthday this past week and her most amazing chocolate cake has been sitting in the refrigerator the whole week....calling my name....

Making books....a new fever....

I have been following 2 artists who blog online and who do the most creative and AMAZING journal pages. They are Judy Wise at http://Judywise.blogspot.com and Milliande at http://milliande.typepad.com/. So this past weekend I created 2 books....(see below)

I texturized these pages....and waiting for them to dry.

Judy Wise has a similar bag in which she carries her 'travel art supplies'. They include markers, a travel watercolor set, 2 different size brushes, stamp pad, a few stamps, scissors, glue stick, scotch tape, paint and a small vial of water.

It's a mix between a sketchbook, collage book, and journal.

Created a Watercolor Journal Today

In preparation for our trip to the Redwoods in CA, I decided to make a watercolor journal for quick painting on the spot. 

I bought two watercolor booklets and folded each page. I measures holes one inch apart. The last time I made a book was back in college. I then used a needle to make holes at each marking.

Here are the booklets with the bindings all sewn up. 
I used the backing from the booklet to make the sides for my book. I had some white fabric and used that to glue it all together. Nora used a pencil to mark on the cardboard. 
I used manilla folder paper for the inside. 
Here are the pages inside the cover....
My daughter and I decorated the cover with collage pieces.....Nora picked out the large white ladder-like piece on the cover.
